Ola launches AI Chatbot “Artificial” to Rival International Competitors

Bhavish Aggarwal, who started Ola, a famous taxi service in India, has launched a new AI Chatbot service named Krutrim.

It will compete with American chatbot services like ChatGPT and Gemini here in India.

The Rise of AI Technology

Recently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been spreading quickly worldwide, including in India. Many AI-based services like chatbots are becoming essential for people.

Companies like OpenAI gained popularity with their chatbot service called ChatGPT. Google also joined in with its AI chatbot named Gemini.

India’s Own Chatbot Service

In India, AI technology is also growing rapidly. That’s why Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola, has introduced an Indian-made AI chatbot service called Artificial.

It’s named after the Hindi word for artificial. Artificial has been launched in public beta on February 26th, allowing everyday users to use the service just like ChatGPT and Gemini.

Artificial Uses LLM

This launch follows Prashikthi’s announcement of $50 million financing, making it India’s first startup unicorn in 2024.

The company claims to be the country’s first AI unicorn. Artificial, the company’s debut product, operates on Multiple Large Language Models (LLM).

Support for Multiple Languages

Bhavish Aggarwal mentioned that Artificial Intelligence will assist people in over 10 Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada and Gujarati.

Additionally, this Indian chatbot can help in Hinglish, a mix of Hindi and English.
