Ford’s Grand Return Unveiling the Mustang EV with a Mighty 470km Range in India

Ford is getting ready to come back to India. The American car company recently got the rights for its electric car, Mustang Mach-E.

They plan to bring this electric car directly to India and sell it here. Additionally, Ford has applied for a special patent for the design of the Next Generation Endeavour.

In America, Ford’s Mustang Mach-E has four models: Select, Premium, GT, and California Route 1.

These models come in two types: rear wheel drive and four wheel drive. The basic version (rear wheel drive) has a 72 kWh battery, giving it a range of 470 kilometers.

It has 262 bhp power and 430 Nm torque. The expected price in India could be around Rs 70 lakh.

Ford left India in 2021 because their sales were dropping. They decided to sell their factories in Gujarat and Chennai. Tata Motors bought the Gujarat plant, but Ford decided to keep the Chennai plant.

Who will compete with Mustang EV?

If Ford launches the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV in India, it will compete with other electric SUVs like Kia EV6, Volvo XC40, and BMW iX1. The Mustang EV will be similar to the global model, made in Mexico and China.

Mustang EV will have 4 versions:

  1. Mustang EV Select: It’s the basic electric car with a 70kwh battery giving a range of 402 km.
  2. Mustang EV California Route 1: This model has a longer range, with a 91kwh battery giving a range of 483 km.
  3. Mustang EV GT: It also comes with a 91kwh battery giving a range of 435 km.
  4. Mustang EV GT Performance: This is the most powerful variant, also with a 91kwh battery giving a range of 435 km.
