Google is giving a new present to shopkeepers in India using Google Pay. It’s called SoundPod. It’s a small device that makes a sound when a payment is received.
This is similar to what Paytm and PhonePe offer to their shopkeepers.
Google Pay Introduces SoundPod
Similar to the Soundbox service of Paytm and PhonePe, Google will now offer a Soundbox to the shopkeepers who use Google Pay.
This will help them keep track of payments made through their QR code.
Google had previously introduced the SoundPod service for a few users, but now they’re making it available to everyone.
In a press release, Google Pay said, “Since our shopkeepers liked the service, we’ve decided to make it available to more people.”
It’s worth mentioning that Paytm was the first to offer the Soundbox service to shopkeepers in India back in 2019.
