In New Delhi’s Technology Desk, there’s news for Apple users. An app called Kimi has been taken off the App Store.
This means you can’t use it anymore to watch movies on your phone.
Kimi used to let Apple users watch movies and TV shows on their phones.
But now, Apple has removed it from iOS, iPadOS, and macOS because it was giving out wrong information to people.
Kimi was available on the App Store since last year, 2023. But it’s been removed within just five months.
Some reports say it was labeled as misleading, so Apple took it down.
Originally, Kimi was presented as a vision testing app on the App Store, but it wasn’t actually for that purpose.
The information about Kimi on the App Store wasn’t clear either.
Before it got removed, many Apple users were using Kimi. It was even popular, ranking number 8 among free entertainment apps and 46th among all free apps on the App Store.
Kimi looked a lot like an old app called Popcorn Time, which was on the App Store a while ago.
Like Popcorn Time, Kimi let users watch and download movies, even from torrents.
Apple hasn’t given any reasons for removing Kimi from the App Store yet.
