A certificate from ARAI says that the Mahindra XUV700 petrol will soon have an automatic gearbox option for its entry-level MX model.
Right now, the MX version only comes with manual transmission for both petrol and diesel engines.
The automatic gearbox is currently only offered with the AX3, AX5, and AX7 versions of the XUV700.
This new variant of the 5-seater SUV is expected to be available in a few weeks.
How much will it cost?
The petrol-automatic models of the XUV700 usually cost around Rs 1.8 lakh more than the manual ones.
So, the MX AT version is expected to be priced at around Rs 15.80 lakh. Currently, the XUV700 MX petrol’s price is Rs 13.99 lakh.
People opting for the petrol-automatic version can save about Rs 2.4 lakh, as the ex-showroom price for the petrol-AT AX3 trim is Rs 18.19 lakh.
What about the features?
The base version has basic features. It comes with 235/65 R17 tires on 17-inch steel rims.
However, it doesn’t have some features available in higher variants, like the 8.0-inch digital driver display, wireless Android Auto
and Apple CarPlay, two extra speakers, LED DRLs, a rear seat armrest, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats. These features are not included in the base version.
