Maruti’s Marvel Brezza CBG SUV, Powered by Bio-waste, Promises Cost-Efficient Travel

Maruti Suzuki recently displayed some new car models at the 2024 India Mobility Expo in Delhi. They introduced the new WagonR, which can use flex fuel.

Additionally, they showcased their first electric car called eVX. Another car highlighted was the CBG variant of the popular sub-four-meter SUV Brezza, which might be launched in a few months with three different versions. Let’s explore the details.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CBG Engine Powertrain:

Maruti Suzuki revealed the CBG Brezza (Compressed Biomethane Gas).

The Maruti Brezza CBG is equipped with a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, K15C petrol engine that runs on compressed biomethane gas, producing 102bhp power and 137Nm torque.

In CNG or CBG form, these numbers decrease to 87bhp and 121Nm torque.

The only transmission option available is a 5-speed manual, and it comes in three variants – LXi, VXi, and ZXi.

Design Features:

Regarding the design of the new Maruti Brezza CBG, you’ll notice CBG stickers on its exterior.

Apart from that, the Brezza CBG retains the same exterior design and features as the standard variant.

It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, with a fuel capacity of 48 liters for petrol and 55 liters for CNG/CBG (equivalent to water).

Launch Information:

As for the launch date of the Maruti Suzuki CBG Brezza, the company has not disclosed specific details about the timeline for launch or production.

However, it is anticipated to be launched in the coming months.
