Getting a new FASTag is now more difficult because Paytm Payments Bank can no longer provide them.
This decision came from the Indian Highway Management Company Limited (IHMCL), which is linked to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
IHMCL has the authority to make decisions about toll-related matters for NHAI.
They discovered that Paytm Payments Bank was not following the agreed-upon parameters and rules for the service-level agreement (SLA).
Because of this, Paytm Payments Bank is not allowed to issue new FASTags.
This decision affects Paytm significantly. They are now prevented from issuing FASTags at any new toll plaza.
This restriction applies to all toll plazas connected to the National Electronic Toll Collection, covering the entire National Highway network in the country.
IHMCL sent a letter to Paytm Payments Bank last Friday, asking for an explanation about why they didn’t follow the rules.
Other companies and agencies issuing FASTags are also being closely watched, and they might face consequences if they don’t comply with the regulations.
