National Voters Day is a special day celebrated every year on 25 January in our country. On this day, we encourage people to get their voter ID cards and vote in elections.
This day started in 2011 when the Election Commission of India was established on 25 January 1950. Since then, it has been celebrated every year on this date.
If you haven’t made your voter card yet, here’s some useful information for you. You can easily make your voter card online.
Just visit https://voters.eci.gov.in/ from your phone or laptop. Create your ID using your phone number and log in with the OTP you receive on the same ID.
Look for the option “Register as a new voter – Fill Form 6” on the top left side, click on it, and fill in your name and address in the form.
Upload your photo and enter the voter card number of any household member. Also, upload your Aadhar card as proof of address.
After filling in all the information, double-check it and submit. You will receive an application ID; make sure to keep it safe.
After about a week, you can track your application on the website. Once your voter card is ready, you can download it, and it will be delivered to your home in a few days.
If you find it challenging in English, you can change the language to Hindi. There’s an option to change the language at the top right corner of the website.
