SpiceJet announces New Flights to Lakshadweep and Ayodhya

Relations between India and the Maldives have become stronger recently.

Due to this, many people from all over the country are now choosing to visit Lakshadweep instead of the Maldives.

Additionally, there is an increased demand for flights to Ayodhya before the Pran Pratishtha program of the Ram Temple.

Ajay Singh, who is the Chairman and CEO of SpiceJet, a low-cost airline, has announced plans to start flights to these destinations.

According to news from Livemint, Ajay Singh mentioned during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the airline that they will soon begin flights to Lakshadweep Island

and also consider starting flights to Ayodhya. These announcements were made to the shareholders.

Ajay Singh explained that the interest in Lakshadweep has surged due to Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit and the tensions between India and the Maldives.

To meet the rising demand, the airline plans to start flights to Lakshadweep using the rights under the connectivity scheme.

Moreover, recognizing the demand for flights to Ayodhya, the company intends to initiate flight operations from there as well.

Lakshadweep gained attention after PM Modi’s visit last week, where he shared beautiful pictures of the island on social media.

Following this, some Maldivian ministers made negative comments about PM Modi and India, leading to increased tensions between the two countries.

Consequently, several travel websites stopped booking for the Maldives, and there have been requests on social media for people to choose Lakshadweep over the Maldives.

In addition to launching flights to Lakshadweep and Ayodhya, the CEO informed shareholders that the company plans to utilize a fund of Rs 2,250 crore for the growth and development of SpiceJet. This financial support is expected to strengthen the airline.
