Now Video Proof Required for PUC Certificates

To control pollution from vehicles better, there are new rules. Whether it’s a car or a bike, when you go to get a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, they now have to record a video of your vehicle at the center.

The certificate will only be given after they upload this video to the government’s VAHAN portal website.

They made this change to stop people from making fake PUC certificates and to make sure the checks are accurate.

This decision came after many complaints. People said that some PUC centers were giving out certificates without really checking the vehicles.

The government’s vehicle portal, which helps with online services for the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, now has a new feature.

All PUC centers in the country can upload videos of vehicles on this website. This change is thanks to the National Informatics Center.

Every vehicle allowed on Indian roads must pass a PUC test to follow the Motor Vehicle Act. Only after a proper check, they give out a PUC certificate.

Delhi, which has a lot of pollution, was quick to follow these rules. Now, other states are also thinking about doing the same.
