On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the biggest Diamond Bourse in Surat, Gujarat. It’s the biggest office building in the world too.

These modern facilities in Diamond Bourse
Before, on Saturday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that PM Modi would visit Gujarat on Sunday.
He will open the Diamond Bourse in Surat, which, according to the PMO, is the biggest and most advanced place for global diamond and jewelry business.
In the Surat Diamond Bourse, they will trade both rough and polished diamonds.
It has modern facilities like a Customs Clearance House for importing and exporting, a Jewelery Mall for retail jewelry business, International Banking services, and a Safe Vault.
Name in Guinness Book of World Records
The Surat Diamond Bourse is now in the Guinness Book of World Records. It’s known as the biggest office building globally.
This huge building is made on 67 lakh square feet, and they spent about Rs 3,500 crore to build it.
This big building can have around 4,500 offices where people trade diamonds at the same time. The whole building has 9 towers, each with 15 floors.
They made offices inside, and they vary in size from 300 square feet to 1 lakh square feet.
Also, this building got a platinum rating from the Indian Green Building Council.
Features of the new airport terminal
PM Modi opened the new airport terminal in Surat. It cost Rs 353 crore and is now recognized as an international airport.
According to AAI Chairman Sanjeev Kumar, the new terminal will triple Surat Airport’s capacity.
It can now handle 1,200 domestic passengers and 600 international passengers during busy times.
The airport’s overall capacity has increased to 3,000 passengers per hour and 55 lakh passengers annually.
PM Modi’s road show after inauguration
After opening the new part of Surat Airport, PM Modi took a drive through the city known as Diamond City. Lots of people joined PM Modi’s drive through the city.
After this, PM Modi will go to his parliamentary area Varanasi, where he will take part in different activities.
