Yamaha Motor India just launched two new bikes, the MT03 Streetfighter and the R3 Supersport.
They cost Rs 4,59,000 and Rs 4,64,900 ex-showroom. These bikes are more powerful and have advanced electronics compared to the Aprilia RS 457, but they are a bit pricier.
Both bikes are imported from Thailand, but if people like them, Yamaha might bring them in parts, which could make them cheaper.
You can get these bikes at Yamaha’s special dealerships, called Blue Square, where you can also join the Yamaha rider community, Blue Streaks.
The MT03 comes in Midnight Cyan and Midnight Black, while the R3 has Yamaha Black and Icon Blue colors.
Both bikes use a 321cc, liquid-cooled engine that makes 42PS power and 29Nm torque. They have a 6-speed gearbox with a special clutch.
The new R3 looks sharper and more aerodynamic than the older model. It has LED headlights and integrated turn indicators.
The MT-03 looks similar to other MT bikes but doesn’t have a front fairing. It has a digital display showing gear, fuel, average, real-time efficiency, and more.
Both bikes have USD forks in front, monoshock suspension at the back, and dual-channel ABS for safety with front and rear disc brakes.
The R3 has 17-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tires, while the MT-03 and R3 weigh 168 kg and 169 kg, respectively.
