Citroen Set to Hike Car Prices in India from January 2024

Citroen India plans to raise the prices of its cars starting from January 2024.

This means that all models, including the C3 hatchback, C3 Aircross, C5 Aircross, and the eC3 electric hatchback, will become more expensive.

The French carmaker is following the trend of other companies increasing prices in the new year.

Citroen has stated that the price hike will be in the range of 2.5 to 3 percent for different models.

The C3 hatchback, introduced in the summer of 2022, is the most budget-friendly car in Citroen’s lineup in India.

Even the electric variant, the eC3, has a starting price of ₹6.16 lakh (ex-showroom).

With this price adjustment, customers might need to pay around ₹15,400 more for the base variant of the C3 hatchback.

Citroen entered the Indian market in 2021 with the C5 Aircross SUV, and later introduced the C3 Aircross SUV in October.

The C3 Aircross competes with SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate, with prices ranging from ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) to ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.

The company has not provided a specific reason for the price increase, but it is speculated that it could be due to rising input costs.

Citroen is expected to release the updated price list for all its cars soon after implementing the price hike in January 2024.
