The new iPhone SE 4 is coming soon, and it’s like an updated version of Apple’s affordable iPhone SE from 2022.
This time, it might look different. There’s news saying the iPhone SE 4 will have a bigger battery than before, giving it a battery life similar to Apple’s regular models.
A report from MacRumors, based on some sources, mentions that Apple is testing a battery (called D59 internally) for the next iPhone SE.
Interestingly, it’s the same battery used in the iPhone 14. Last year, Apple released five new phones: iPhone SE (2022), iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
According to the report, the iPhone SE 4 prototype has the A2863 battery, the same as the iPhone 14.
The iPhone 14 teardown revealed a big 3,279mAh battery, much larger than the 2,108mAh battery in the iPhone SE (2022).
Apple usually doesn’t tell us how big the batteries are in their phones.
But there’s more than just a better battery in the iPhone SE 4. It’s also supposed to have the same action button as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Some news says that all iPhone 16 models next year will have a programmable button instead of the mute switch.
And there’s a new port coming too – a USB Type-C port. This change is to follow the common charger rules in the EU.
