UP CM Yogi Adityanath: Before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Yogi government is getting ready to offer a significant gift to elderly women.
The government plans to allow women over 60 years old to travel for free on roadways buses.
A budget of Rs 1 crore has been set aside in the supplementary budget for the Transport Corporation to implement this initiative.
This move is expected to have a positive impact on the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
This promise was outlined in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto for the 2022 assembly elections.
To fulfill this commitment, Rs 1 crore has now been allocated in the supplementary budget.
According to reports from Navbharat Times.com, elderly women will soon enjoy the benefit of free travel on roadways buses.
Additionally, the Minister of State has announced the inclusion of over a thousand new buses in the Road Transport Corporation’s fleet, with more than 100 being electric.
An allocation of Rs 100 crore has been made to purchase these buses.
It is important to note that the demand for free travel for women has been a longstanding one in UP, and the Yogi government may soon make a decision in this direction.
The supplementary budget also includes provisions for the construction of a multi-storey integrated modern building for the Transport Department at Oliver Road, Hazratganj, Lucknow.
Furthermore, roadways buildings are planned for construction in Chandauli, Bareilly, Chitrakoot, Farrukhabad, Jaunpur, Hapur, Sambhal, and Deoria in Uttar Pradesh.
