Delhi Airport to use AI with Camera-based solutions to improve Operations

Delhi Airport is the biggest airport in our country. It’s in India’s capital, Delhi, and it’s one of the busiest airports in the whole world.

Delhi Airport is special because it uses new technology to recognize passengers, making things easier for them.

There’s good news about the airport that might make air travelers happy.

Artificial Intelligence will be used at Delhi Airport

Because more people are traveling through Delhi Airport, they will use smart technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cameras to make the airport work better.

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, who is the CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the company that runs the biggest airport in our country, shared this news.

The cool part is that this will make things quicker for passengers, and they will enjoy more services using this advanced technology.

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, who is the CEO of DIAL, mentioned, “We want to use more digital solutions for how the airport works.

These solutions might use Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence. We want to make the airport work better. Estimators will use analysis to help with this.”

Delhi airport serves more than 7 crore air passengers

Every day, about 1500 flights take off and land at Delhi Airport. The number of passengers is expected to go up to more than 7 crores by the end of this financial year.

This airport has three terminals – T1, T2, and T3. Because more people are coming to Delhi Airport, DIAL is working to make things better.

They want air travelers to have a smoother experience with improved facilities.

There was a problem in the winter of 2022

During the winter last year, people had a hard time at Delhi Airport because it was very crowded.

Jaipuriar mentioned that within 15 days after this happened last year, they added more entry gates for passengers at Delhi Airport.

European system will also be used at Delhi airport

Additionally, they are introducing a system called the Airport Operation Center (APOC), which is used in Europe.

This system helps predict how many passengers will be at the airport at a specific time. Using this information, they can make preparations in advance.

The head of DIAL said, “This system will help the airport plan ahead by predicting the day’s events.

Once we share this information with the airport team, they can assign the right people where needed. We are working on putting it into action.”
