Maruti Suzuki has surprised its customers with some important news. In an official statement to the stock exchange (BSE), Maruti Suzuki mentioned that, because of growing pressures, they’ve decided to raise the prices of their cars.
This change is set to take effect in January 2024. Let’s find out by how much the company plans to increase the prices of its cars.
The carmaker, in its statement, explained that the decision to increase prices is due to higher costs caused by inflation and the rise in prices of materials.
Because of this, the prices of the company’s cars will go up in January 2024. The company is doing its best to cut costs and balance out the increase.
Do you know by what percentage the prices will increase?
It’s important to note that Maruti Suzuki sells a range of vehicles, from the small entry-level car Alto to the multi-utility vehicle Invicto, with prices ranging from ₹3.54 lakh to ₹28.42 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
However, the company hasn’t disclosed the specific percentage by which it will increase the car prices. Maruti Suzuki mentioned that the extent of the price hike will vary for different models.
Maruti has already raised prices before
This year, on April 1, 2023, Maruti Suzuki increased the prices of all its models.
Back in January 2023, the company had also announced a price increase of about 1.1% for all its vehicle models.
Audi cars will also become more expensive
On Monday, German luxury carmaker Audi also revealed that it will raise the prices of its vehicles in India by up to 2% starting from January next year.
This decision is attributed to the increasing costs of inputs and operations.
Audi India stated that the price increase will apply to all its model ranges and will be effective from January 1, 2024.
