Toyota Kirloskar is getting ready to open a new place where they make cars so they can make more and you don’t have to wait a long time.
They want to build this new place in Bidadi city, Karnataka. They will spend Rs 3300 crore on it soon.
The company told us that the new factory will begin making things in the year 2026.
Every year, 1 lakh things will be made in this place. People will work here in two different shifts.
The company already has a first factory in Bidadi, where they make 3.42 lakh units every year.
Thousands of people will get employment
Toyota is going to spend about Rs 3,300 crore to make a new place where they build things in Karnataka.
This will be their third place in India to make things. They say this new place will provide jobs for about 2,000 people.
The company from Japan says they decided to make a new place where they build things in India.
They want to do this to make more things locally in India. The car company has a plan for two work times in the new place, and they can add another if they need to.
Right now, their two places where they make things are working three times a day to finish the orders they have.
Many models of Toyota will be ready
Toyota mentioned they will not only make the Innova Hycross in their new place but also get ready for making other models in the future.
The Vice President and Country Head, Vikram Gulati, shared this with PTI. He said our company is ready for the future.
We have access to good technology and products for different types of engines.
He also mentioned that it doesn’t take a lot of time to bring in any kind of engine in the industry.
Waiting period up to 18 months on Toyota cars
In October 2023, Toyota sold 20,542 cars, which is a bit less than the 22,168 cars they sold in September.
It’s not because people don’t want Toyota cars; it’s because the company can’t make enough cars for everyone who wants them.
You can see that people have to wait a long time to get four models from the company – like 12 months. And for some specific types, the wait is even longer, up to 18 months.
This month, if you want to buy a Fortuner, you might have to wait for up to 4 months.
For Innova Hicross, the wait is even longer, more than 12 months. The same goes for Urban Cruiser Highrider, a wait of more than 12 months.
If you’re interested in Innova Crysta, you might need to wait up to 8 months.
However, if you’re looking at the hybrid version of Innova Hycross, be prepared for a longer wait of around 18 months.
So, it’s important to consider the waiting time before deciding to buy these cars.
