Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to start a big plan for the tribal community on November 15.
It’s called the PM-PVTG Development Mission. This plan will help tribes that are often ignored.
The date, November 15, is special for tribal people because it’s the birthday of Birsa Munda.
He was a hero for independence and is like a god to tribal communities. Birsa Munda fought against the British even before the 1857 revolution.
The government will spend Rs 24,000 crore on this PM-PVTG scheme. November 15 is also Tribal Pride Day.
This time, launching the plan is important because there are elections in Chhattisgarh on November 17 and the first round in Madhya Pradesh. This scheme is meant to win the support of tribal people in these states.
The plan was announced in the 2023-24 budget. Its goal is to help the economic and social development of tribes who are not doing well compared to others.
There are 75 such tribes in 18 states and union territories. They are called PVTG or Particularly Vulnerable Group.
These tribes have 28 lakh people in 22,544 villages across 220 districts in the country.
The Central Government had already announced this plan in the budget, so it’s not against election rules.
According to the Central Government, the plan will make the villages of backward tribal communities better.
It will provide things like roads, telecom, electricity, safe houses, clean water, and sanitation. It will also give education and health facilities.
Eleven departments from nine ministries will work together for this plan. Connecting with this plan will also give access to other schemes like PM Gram Sadak Yojana, Arogya Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission.
