UP Govt announces Diwali Bonus and DA hike for Govt Employees

On Monday, the government of Uttar Pradesh gave a special gift to its employees before Diwali.

As per Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s announcement, state employees will receive 46% extra money instead of 42%.

Also, Non-gazetted employees will receive a bonus of up to Rs 7,000.

The government announced that employees, teachers, staff, and daily wage workers will receive a bonus equal to a month’s pay. The highest bonus amount will be Rs 7,000.

Gift to government employees

Bonus will be paid to eligible employees before Dhanteras or Diwali. At the same time, the increased DA will be paid in the salary coming in December.

A government spokesperson mentioned that state employees will get extra money, starting from July.

Between July and October, the extra money will be put into employees’ GPF accounts.

Additionally, a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance will be given as extra money in the November salary received in December.

The raised dearness relief for pensioners from July will be added to their pension in the payment they get in December.

How to get bonus?

Because state employees will get more dearness allowance, their salaries will go up from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000.

Over 15 lakh state employees and more than 8 lakh retired employees will gain from this increase in dearness allowance.

Each employee will receive a bonus of Rs 6,908. Out of this, 75 percent, which is a portion of Rs 6,908, will be added to their Employees Provident Fund (GPF) account, while the remaining 25 percent, which is Rs 1,727, will be given as cash.

Employees who aren’t part of GPF will receive their bonus in the form of National Savings Certificates.

Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that all state employees, along with those from educational and technical institutions, urban bodies, UGC employees, work-charged employees, and retirees who contribute to the state’s progress, will receive a 46 percent increase in their basic salary as an allowance.

Additionally, they’ve decided to give a bonus equal to 30 days’ pay (with a maximum limit of Rs 7,000) to all state employees who are not in high-ranking positions, work-charged employees, teachers, non-teaching staff, and daily wage workers.
