Indian Railways is introducing new passenger-friendly rules to enhance the travel experience. Passengers will no longer need to keep paper tickets safe.
Just like IRCTC e-tickets, window tickets will now be valid through mobile messages.
Violating railway rules may result in fines, so passengers are encouraged to adhere to the guidelines.
With this innovation, the fear of losing tickets and the hassle of getting them reissued will be eliminated. The implementation of these changes is underway.
Artificial Intelligence Revolutionizes Ticketing
Indian Railways is embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to bring significant improvements to the ticketing system.
Passengers will receive their ticket details on their mobile phones after purchasing tickets from railway counters.
This allows them to board trains without the need to stand in long queues. The introduction of AI in reservations promises to simplify the process and reduce common issues like lost tickets.
Shifting Ticketing Trends
Currently, most passengers book tickets through IRCTC, with 70 percent of bookings happening through this platform.
The remaining 30 percent of tickets are issued at railway counters. Unlike e-tickets, waiting list tickets from railway counters don’t automatically cancel if they remain unconfirmed.
This shift toward mobile ticketing is set to improve the travel experience for all passengers.”
