Google Chrome, the world’s most popular mobile browser, is causing concerns for Android users.
If you own an Android smartphone running on an older operating system, you may be facing the need for an upgrade as Google Chrome is discontinuing support.
Starting with the release of Google Chrome 120 on December 6, support for Android Nougat (version 7.0 and 7.1) will be terminated, meaning those using these older versions will no longer be able to access Google Chrome.
Thankfully, the impact is minimal. Only a small percentage of users, around 2.6%, are affected by this change since only a few devices still run on Android 7.0 or 7.1.
This move is aimed at allowing Google Chrome to focus more on new versions and improvements.
The latest update promises not only a fresh visual design but also new options and enhanced transparency settings for Omnibox, which will help improve the browsing experience, especially on websites that currently have trouble loading.
Since its debut in 2008, Google Chrome has dominated the global browser market and serves as the foundation for several other popular browsers through its Chromium engine.
