Google launches Fact Check Tools to Verify Images

You can now quickly confirm if a picture is real. Google has made it simple.

They created the ‘Fact Check Tool’ to assist users in finding correct and trustworthy information by examining images all over the world.

Tech experts say this tool will make it simple for people to confirm if the pictures they find on the internet are trustworthy and have proper sources.

What will users get from Fact-Check Tool?

This tool helps users look up the history and details of an image, as well as where other people have used it on various websites.

Google explained in a blog post that you can use this tool by clicking on three dots on an image or in the search results on Google Images.

This tool helps users find out when Google Search first found an image or similar images and if it was used on other websites a long time ago.

Users can also check how the image is used on other pages and what news and fact-checking websites say about it.

According to Google, this information can be useful for checking the things people say about an image and getting more evidence and different points of view from other sources.

What did Techno Expert say?

When it comes to this image tool, technology experts say that approved journalists and fact checkers can use it along with the ‘Facecheck Claim Search API.’

You can also upload a picture or copy the web address (URL) for more information about the images.

The company is trying out something called Generative AI to learn more about where data comes from.

For instance, they want to know about a webpage from an unknown seller or a blog that’s not familiar. If we need to investigate, how can we do it?
