Jio launches ‘JioSpaceFiber’ to Connect Remote Areas

In a bid to bring high-speed internet to remote regions, Reliance Jio has unveiled ‘JioSpaceFiber,’ a satellite-based giga-fiber technology.

This service promises affordability and accessibility across the country. Jio showcased this innovation at the India Mobile Congress from October 27 to 29.

‘JioSpaceFiber’ is the third significant addition to Jio’s connectivity solutions, following Jio Fiber and Jio Air Fiber.

Reaching Remote Corners

‘JioSpaceFiber’ has successfully bridged connectivity gaps in some of India’s remotest locations, including Gir National Park in Gujarat, Korba in Chhattisgarh, Nabarangpur in Orissa, and ONGC-Jorhat in Assam.

The technology operates via satellites, marking a crucial advancement in Reliance Jio’s connectivity portfolio.

SES satellites are leveraged to provide broadband access in challenging areas, ensuring reliable multi-gigabit connectivity wherever needed.

Transforming Rural India

Telecom experts anticipate that ‘JioSpaceFiber’ could revolutionize rural India by offering affordable, high-speed internet access.

This development is expected to bring about significant improvements in education and healthcare services in remote areas.

Government schools in remote regions can now access the internet through satellite connectivity, enhancing the quality of education and reducing educational disparities.

Real-time data on primary healthcare, vaccination, nutrition, and community welfare will become readily available, empowering local authorities to make informed decisions.
