You have two options for doing this: the Vahan NR e-Services Portal and the mParivahan Smartphone App. Let’s talk about both of them.
Vehicle NR e-Services Portal
The Vahan NR e-Services Portal is a special website for finding information about cars and other vehicles.
To check if your vehicle has insurance, just follow these steps:
- Visit the Vahan NR e-Services Portal.
2. Click on the ‘Know Your Vehicle Details’ tab on the homepage.
3. Log in by entering your mobile number and account password.
4. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number; enter it.
5. If you don’t have an account, click on the ‘Create Account’ option.
6. After logging in, enter your vehicle registration number and captcha code.
7. Click on the ‘Vahan Search’ button.
8. This will show you the insurance status of your vehicle.
mParivahan Smartphone App
If you have a smartphone, you can check your vehicle’s insurance status online using the mParivahan Smartphone App. Here’s how:
1. Download the ‘NextGen mParivahan’ app on your smartphone.
2. Open the application and sign in by entering the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
3. If you don’t have an account, you can click on the ‘Create Account’ option.
4. After logging in, select the ‘Insurance’ option from the app’s homepage.
5. Enter your vehicle’s registration number in the next field and tap the magnifying glass icon.
This app will then display various information, including details and the validity of your motor vehicle’s insurance.
