Ayushman Card Required for Ration in UP, Says District Supply Officer

To get free medical care in government or private hospitals, you must have an Ayushman Card.

Anyone who is eligible can benefit from this government-provided service. Recent reports from the media indicate that those without an Ayushman Card will no longer receive ration.

Therefore, if you want to receive ration in Uttar Pradesh, you must obtain an Ayushman Card. This directive also applies to local suppliers known as Kotedars.

Ayushman Card Essential

a surprise inspection in Ballia, UP, District Supply Officer, along with supply inspector Sanjeev Singh, visited shops operating under the public distribution system.

They stressed that Ayushman Cards are mandatory for Antyodaya cardholders, their families, and BPL cardholders to receive ration.

Rations will not be provided without an Ayushman Card. The officer warned that there would be consequences for tenants who do not comply.

According to local suppliers, some ration cardholders have family members both in the village and outside, making it challenging to obtain Ayushman Cards.

How to Apply for an Ayushman Card

Eligible beneficiaries can apply for an Ayushman Card by visiting http://beneficiary.nha.gov.in, either by themselves or with the help of others.

Click on the “beneficiary” option on the right side of the webpage and enter your mobile number. Verify your OTP.

Beneficiaries can also download the Ayushman Yojana app from the Play Store, created by the National Health Authority, to make Ayushman Cards.

After downloading the app, enter your Aadhaar number and provide the required beneficiary information.

Once the card processing is complete, you will receive a message on your mobile phone.
