Aviation Fuel Costs Soar

Ahead of the festive season, oil marketing companies have raised aviation fuel (ATF) prices.

Natural Gas Prices on the Rise

The government has announced an increase in domestic natural gas prices, from $8.60/MMBTU to $9.20/mBtu, starting today.

This hike may lead to increased costs in sectors like power, steel, petrochemicals, and fertilizers.

Credit and Debit Card Rule Changes

Significant changes in credit and debit card rules come into effect today. The Reserve Bank now allows customers to choose their card’s network provider.

Previously, this could only be done by the issuing bank or company. Customers can make this choice at the time of card issuance or later.

Revised TCS Rules for International Transactions

If you engage in foreign travel, invest in foreign stocks, mutual funds, or foreign cryptocurrencies, there’s important news.

Starting October 1, you will be required to pay TCS (Tax Collected at Source) of up to 20 percent on international remittances exceeding Rs 7 lakh, except for education and medical expenses.

Aadhaar Mandate for Small Savings Schemes

Investing in small savings schemes like PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Senior Citizen Saving Scheme, etc., now requires Aadhaar.

Birth Certificate’s Enhanced Utility

From October 1 onwards, a birth certificate becomes a crucial document. It is now the sole requirement for a child’s school admission, college enrollment, obtaining an Aadhaar card, securing a government job, obtaining a driver’s license, and more.
