PM Modi to Inaugurate Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, Slashes Travel Time

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway in Gwalior today, a significant step to cut travel time between Delhi and Vadodara. The expressway is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project.

Reduced Travel Time

The new expressway will drastically reduce travel time, bringing Delhi and Vadodara within a 10-hour drive, quicker than the fastest train on the route, the Mumbai Central Tejas Rajdhani, which takes 10 hours and 45 minutes. Previous train journeys typically took between 12 to 15 hours.

Shortened Distance

The Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 12,000 crore, covers 79 km in Haryana, 373 km in Rajasthan, and 244 km in Madhya Pradesh.

It slashes the road distance between the two cities from over 1,000 km to just 845 km.

Enhanced Connectivity

This eight-lane expressway allows vehicles to travel at speeds of up to 120 kmph and enhances connectivity to cities like Jaipur, Kota, Chittorgarh, Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and Ahmedabad.

Benefits Before Elections

The Madhya Pradesh section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has become a showcase project for the BJP before the upcoming assembly elections, facilitating better transportation and connectivity for the region.

Improving Travel

With the inauguration of this expressway, road travel in the region will see significant improvements, making it easier and faster to move between Delhi and Vadodara.
