Jio Dominates ICC World Cup 2023 Stadiums with Blazing 5G Download Speeds

In the cricket stadiums hosting the ICC World Cup 2023 in India, Reliance Jio shines as the champion of speed, outpacing Airtel

and Vodafone Idea by a significant margin, according to the latest Open Signal report.

Reliance Jio’s download speed stands out with an impressive 61.7 Mbps, leaving Airtel in second place with 30.5 Mbps, and Vodafone Idea trailing behind at 17.7 Mbps.

Jio’s 5G Supremacy

Reliance Jio continues its winning streak, claiming the top spot in 5G download speed as well. Jio’s average 5G download speed reaches a remarkable 344.5 Mbps, outperforming Airtel’s 274.5 Mbps.

It’s worth noting that Vodafone Idea does not offer 5G services at the moment.

Stadium Showdown

The ICC World Cup 2023 matches are scheduled to take place in ten stadiums across India, ranging from the modern Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Upload Speed Winner

In terms of upload speed, Airtel manages an average of 6.6 Mbps within cricket stadiums, with Jio closely following at 6.3 Mbps, while Vodafone Idea records 5.8 Mbps.

Airtel maintains its lead in the average 5G upload speed, clocking in at 26.3 Mbps, while Reliance Jio achieves 21.6 Mbps.

5G Availability

Open Signal’s report also assesses the availability of 5G connectivity both inside and outside the ICC World Cup stadiums.

In this category, Jio emerges victorious once again, with its customers enjoying 5G connectivity for over 53% of their time at the stadiums.

In contrast, Airtel customers could access 5G networks only 20.7% of the time, making Jio’s 5G availability 2.6 times higher than Airtel’s.
