To ease the Ganpati Visarjan rush, Western Railway is running eight special local trains on the night of September 28th and 29th.
These trains will operate between Churchgate and Virar stations. During September 28th, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, all fast trains heading up, including Charni Road, will make stops.
This is unusual, as these suburban services typically do not stop between Mumbai Central and Churchgate during evening peak hours.
To reduce crowding at Charni Road station’s platform number 2 on September 28, 2023, between 5:00 PM
and 10:00 PM, all slow trains going towards Churchgate will not halt at Charni Road station, leaving platform number 2 without any train service during this time.
