The leader of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, has shared plans to make a special online marketplace for our city.
This marketplace will be called ‘Delhi Bazaar’ and will link all the stores in Delhi. With this, people can buy things from their homes.
He shared this idea during the Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival held in Rangpuri last Sunday.
Kejriwal, the main guest, mentioned that our government supports businesses and industries.
We’ve worked hard to help businesses grow. Just like the Chandni Chowk Market, we’re planning to make other markets in Delhi more attractive so that more people visit them and businesses can thrive.
He also said that if we simplify the government processes and offer opportunities to business owners and entrepreneurs, we can definitely compete with China successfully.
The leader of our city also met with the people who sell things in Chandni Chowk during the shopping festival put together by the Commerce of Trade and Industry (CTI).
He walked around the stalls and chatted with the shopkeepers, giving them support and encouragement.
The leader mentioned that this festival idea is really great.
In the future, we plan to have more shopping festivals in various parts of Delhi.
We can arrange similar events in places like Lajpat Nagar and Gandhinagar, or in different sectors like textiles and furniture.
These festivals bring together people who want to buy and those who want to sell. We have three such programs planned for the near future.
We’re working on something like the Dubai Festival
The Chief Minister mentioned that we’re planning a big shopping festival, similar to the one they have in Dubai.
It’s taking some time to plan and make it happen, but we want to do it on a grand scale.
This festival will go on for about one to ten days, and it will happen all across Delhi.
The entire city will be in a festive mood during this time.
We’ll make other markets look nice too
Just like Chandni Chowk, we want other markets to be beautiful as well.
When a market looks nice, more people visit it, and that helps businesses do better.
The Chief Minister also talked to local businesspeople about his experiences with business in Punjab.
He said that our government is always trying to make businesses grow there.
Even someone in New York can shop here
The leader of our city mentioned that we’re making something called “Delhi Bazaar,” an online market.
So, if someone in New York wants to buy something from Chandni Chowk, they can do it in this online market.
Our goal is to take all the shops in Delhi to a national and international level, so people from anywhere in the world can buy things.
Some big companies in Delhi have put their products online, but not every shop owner can do that or make their own website.
Even if they make a website, they might have trouble promoting it. But the Delhi government is working quickly to give all these tools to business owners.
