Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrated on September 19th, draws crowds of travelers to Maharashtra, especially Mumbai.
To ease the rush, Central and Western Railways have announced over 300 special trains. Here’s the list:
Konkan Railway’s Ganesh Chaturthi Special Trains
1) Train No. 01153 Diva Junction – Ratnagiri MEMU Special (Daily): Departs from Diva Junction at 07:10 am, arriving at Ratnagiri at 14:55 pm on the same day, from 13/09/2023 to 02/10/2023.
2) Train No. 01154 Ratnagiri – Diva Junction MEMU Special (Daily): Departs from Ratnagiri at 15:40 hrs, reaching Diva Junction at 22:40 hrs on the same day, from 13/09/2023 to 02/10/2023.
Stops at Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Sape Wamne, Karanjadi, Khed, Anjani, Chiplun, Sawardha, Aravali Road, and Sangameshwar Road stations.
Train No. 01155/01156 Diva Jn. – Chiplun – Diva Jn. MEMU Special (Daily)
1) Train No. 01155 Diva Junction – Chiplun MEMU Special (Daily): Departs from Diva Junction at 19:35 hrs, arriving at Chiplun at 01:25 on the next day, from 13/09/2023 to 19/09/2023 and from 22/09/2023 to 02/10/2023.
2) Train No. 01156 Chiplun – Diva Junction MEMU Special (Daily): Departs from Chiplun at 13:00 hrs, reaching Diva Junction at 00:00 on the same day, from 14/09/2023 to 20/09/2023 and from 23/09/2023 to 03/10/2023.
These trains stop at Panvel, Pen, Roha, Kolad, Indapur, Mangaon, Goregaon Road, Veer, Sape Wamne, Karanjadi, Vinhere, Dewankhawati, Kalambani Budruk, Khed, and Anjani stations.
Railways’ Ganpati Preparations
Central Railway aims to transport 1.04 lakh more passengers compared to the previous year’s 90,000 during Ganesh Utsav.
Additionally, approximately 1.50 lakh unreserved passengers will travel via 257 Ganpati special trains.
Over 300 Festive Special Trains
Central Railway and Western Railway are jointly operating 312 Ganpati special trains this year, compared to 294 in 2022.
Central Railway will run 257 trains, while Western Railway will operate 55, marking an increase of 18 trains from the previous year.
