UPI ATM: The use of UPI (Unified Payment Interface) is growing, and now we have the country’s first UPI ATM.
It’s called the Hitachi Money Spot UPI ATM, and it’s a partnership between Hitachi Payment Services, a subsidiary of a Japanese company called Hitachi Ltd, and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
How does the UPI ATM work?
You can withdraw cash from this ATM without using a card, just like a regular ATM.
The only difference is that instead of receiving an OTP (One-Time Password), you can withdraw money by scanning a QR Code from your UPI app.
You won’t need a credit or debit card for this. Plus, it’s safer because you don’t have to enter any card numbers or PINs.
How to use the UPI ATM?
1. The UPI ATM is smaller and more compact than a normal ATM. When you look at the screen, it will say “Welcome to UPI ATM.”
2. Touch the screen, and it will ask you how much money you want to withdraw. You can choose Rs 100, Rs 500, or Rs 1,000.
3. Once you select the amount, a QR code will appear on the screen.
4. Use your UPI app, like BHIM, PhonePe, or GPay, to scan this code.
5. On your phone screen, you’ll be asked to choose your bank account.
6. After that, you’ll see a message on the screen asking you to “Confirm to withdraw cash.” Click “proceed.”
7. Now, you’ll need to enter your UPI app PIN.
8. The ATM screen will show a processing message, and then it will give you your cash. You can collect your money.
