Scheme of Govt to Promote Inter-Caste Marriages and remove Discrimination

Under the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation’s Intercaste Marriage Scheme, eligible individuals can receive financial support.

The central government offers INR 2.5 lakh for marriages between individuals from the Swarna (privileged) caste and Dalit communities.

This scheme was initiated in 2013. In addition to the central government, the Haryana government also provides INR 2.5 lakh.

Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh governments offer INR 50,000 and INR 2.5 lakh, respectively, for this initiative. Recently, the Rajasthan government increased its contribution to INR 5 lakh.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for the Intercaste Marriage Scheme:

The marriage must be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955.

Only first-time marriages are eligible.

Individuals who repeatedly benefit from state or central schemes will have the amount deducted from their accounts.

How to Apply

To access the benefits of the Central Government’s Intercaste Marriage Scheme, applicants must apply within one year of their marriage.

They can complete an offline application form and send it to the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation.
