The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken a step to improve its housing scheme rules for the betterment of people.
Expanded Eligibility for Flats
In a significant update, the DDA now allows individuals who already possess a house or land in Delhi to participate in the housing scheme and purchase flats.
Addressing Low Sales and Unsold Flats
The decision comes in response to the challenge of low sales of DDA flats.
Earlier regulations prevented those who already owned a house in Delhi from applying for DDA flats.
This restriction contributed to a growing number of flats remaining unsold.
Equal Opportunities for All
The DDA believes that this change will create fairness by offering an equal opportunity to everyone.
Even those with an existing house can now consider buying an additional flat. This change is also expected to benefit the DDA by boosting flat sales.
Aiming for Increased Sales and Inclusivity
Recently, the DDA introduced a new scheme with 5,623 flats available, but only 1735 flats have been sold so far.
The new policy is expected to increase the sale of DDA flats, ensuring that more individuals who were previously excluded from the scheme can now participate.
