New Delhi :
State Bank of India (SBI), the nation’s largest public sector bank, has introduced a streamlined process for its customers to enroll in essential social security schemes.
Customers can now enroll in schemes like PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana using just their Aadhaar card.
This move simplifies the enrollment process, eliminating the need for multiple documents and bank passbooks.
Previously, customers were required to provide a range of documents including Aadhaar and passbooks for enrollment in these schemes.
However, SBI has revolutionized the procedure, making it easier for customers.
The bank’s Chairman, Dinesh Khara, launched this convenient service, which will be available at the Bank’s Customer Service Points (CSPs).
With the Aadhaar-based enrollment facility in place, customers visiting the CSPs will only need to present their Aadhaar card to avail themselves of these crucial social security benefits.
The cumbersome requirement of carrying passbooks for enrollment is now a thing of the past.
Dinesh Khara, SBI’s Chairman, emphasized that this new initiative is designed to empower all sections of society by removing obstacles to accessing financial security.
This user-friendly approach is anticipated to significantly enhance the reach of these vital social security schemes.
Previously, enrollment necessitated the submission of numerous documents, a process now simplified to Aadhaar-based verification.
