Travelers aiming to journey back to the UAE from India are facing a dilemma as ticket prices have surged dramatically.
News reports reveal that passengers are encountering a steep 200% increase in ticket costs for returning to the UAE, leading many to opt for trip cancellations.
The Impact of Rising Ticket Costs
The substantial 200% rise in fares has not been well received by passengers who are accustomed to lower prices.
Such increases are often seen during peak holiday periods. Experts in travel suggest that the cost of tickets between India and UAE starts to climb in July and remains elevated until the early days of September.
Variation in Fare Increases
For instance, if we consider flights from Mumbai to Dubai scheduled for August 20, the ticket prices range from Dh890-Dh1,000, marking an increase of Dh500 from the regular rates.
Delhi-Dubai flights, which usually cost around Dh520, are now as high as Dh1,073.
Similar fare hikes extend to South India as well. Travel to Kerala, which normally falls within the range of Dh600-Dh1,000 during off-peak times, can now span from Dh1,288 to Dh2,277.
There is a possibility that ticket prices might decrease after mid-September.
Changing Travel Plans and Expectations
Numerous individuals from India had initially booked one-way tickets to India during their vacation periods, holding out hope for reduced ticket prices in August.
Unfortunately, this anticipation is not materializing. In search of more affordable options, many expatriates are exploring alternative routes through Ras Al Khaimah and Muscat.
The significant increase in ticket prices for UAE-India flights has introduced challenges for travelers planning their return journeys.
Amidst the uncertainties of fluctuating fares, many are left with tough decisions regarding their travel arrangements.
