Go First Extends Flight Cancellations until July 16 due to Cash Crisis

Go First, the Indian airline currently undergoing insolvency resolution, has once again announced the cancellation of its flights. Following this announcement, all Go First flights will remain grounded until July 16.

Initially, flights were canceled until July 10, with the airline extending the date multiple times. The airline, facing a cash crisis, has been grappling with flight cancellations for the past two months and ten days.

Airline’s Statement and Ongoing Audit

In a statement, Go First expressed regret over the cancellations, citing operational reasons.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) previously conducted a special audit of the airline and pointed out deficiencies in the revival plan submitted by Go First. The airline has since submitted a response to the regulatory body.

Resumption of Operations in Question

During a hearing at the Delhi High Court, the DGCA informed the court that they have responded to the resolution professional (RP) of Go First, highlighting deficiencies found in the special audit report of the airline’s revival plan.

The court asked the DGCA to provide an estimate of the time required for the airline to resume operations.

The DGCA’s representative stated that if the regulator is satisfied with the resolution professional’s response, it may take around a week to 10 days for the airline to be allowed to resume operations.

Go First continues to face operational challenges and uncertainties as its flight cancellations persist.

The airline’s cash crisis and ongoing insolvency resolution process have significantly impacted its ability to resume normal operations.

Passengers are advised to stay updated on further announcements from Go First regarding the resumption of flights.
