Maruti Suzuki has introduced the CNG variant of its new crossover, the Fronx, in the Indian market.
The Fronx CNG is offered in two variants, Sigma and Delta, priced at Rs. 8.41 lakh and Rs. 9.27 lakh respectively.
While the CNG version is approximately Rs 93,500 costlier than its petrol counterpart, Maruti has kept the price remarkably low for an SUV.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG is equipped with a factory-fitted CNG kit and is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series Dualjet, Dual VVT engine.
In CNG mode, the engine generates a power of 77.5PS at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 98.5Nm at 4,300rpm.
It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, offering smooth shifting and efficient performance.
One of the standout features of the Fronx CNG is its impressive mileage of 28.51 km/kg on CNG. In petrol mode, the engine delivers 89bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm.
The petrol variant offers the choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT option, catering to diverse driving preferences.
With the addition of the Fronx CNG, Maruti Suzuki expands its CNG portfolio to 15 models, highlighting its commitment to environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles.
The entry-level Sigma variant of the Fronx CNG comes packed with features such as halogen projector headlamps, keyless entry and go, automatic AC, fabric seat upholstery, hill hold assist, ESP, reverse parking sensors, dual airbags, and rear defogger.
The Delta variant of the Fronx CNG offers additional features, including turn indicators on the ORVMs, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice assist features, OTA updates, a 4-speaker sound system, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, and steering wheel-mounted controls, among others.
