Great news for travelers! The Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted approval for a new flight route connecting Prayagraj and Kolkata.
Starting from July 3, Prayagraj airport will offer direct flights to Kolkata, courtesy of Alliance Air, a renowned aviation company.
Passengers can now conveniently fly between the two cities every Monday and Friday.
The inaugural flight from Prayagraj will depart on July 3 at 12.25 pm, reaching Kolkata at 2.10 pm, with a flight duration of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
In return, the aircraft will take off from Kolkata at 2.35 pm and arrive in Prayagraj at 4.15 pm.
Additionally, the same aircraft will continue its journey to Delhi, departing from Prayagraj at 4.40 pm.
To cater to a wide range of passengers, Alliance Air has set the minimum fare for this route at Rs 4215.
The aircraft operating on this route belongs to the ATR class and offers a total of 72 seats.
Previously, flights from Prayagraj to Kolkata were being operated by Indigo. However, the service was discontinued.
Due to increasing demand, the need for a direct flight to Kolkata has been consistently voiced, including by MP Keshari Devi Patel during a meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee.
