In a bid to support the impoverished population of the country, the Central Government has implemented the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).
This initiative ensures a regular supply of essential food grains to over 80 crore individuals in need.
Under this program, eligible individuals holding ration cards receive a fixed quantity of food grains based on the number of family members.
Apart from serving as a means to access food supplies, the ration card also functions as a form of identification.
The utility of the ration card extends beyond obtaining provisions;
it can be used for various purposes such as opening a bank account or availing benefits from government and private schemes.
