Tata Punch has dominated the micro SUV segment, emerging as the top-selling car since its launch and gaining immense popularity among buyers.

Witnessing the demand in this segment, several other companies are now gearing up to introduce their own micro SUV models.

Maruti Suzuki took the first step in April with the launch of its highly acclaimed Fronx SUV, captivating the hearts of customers.

Following suit, Hyundai Motor is all set to unveil its latest offering, the Exter, on the 10th of next month.

Moreover, Toyota has plans to enter this segment with a new model in the coming months.

Hyundai Exter: Pre-Bookings Begin, Pricing and Specifications Revealed

Hyundai has commenced pre-bookings for its Exter with an initial deposit of just Rs.11,000.

The Exter will be available in five different trims, catering to various preferences.

Under its hood lies a 1.2L petrol engine capable of delivering an impressive output of 83bhp and 114Nm of torque.

Additionally, there will be an option for CNG, providing a power output of 69bhp and torque of 95.2Nm.

The SUV will offer both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmissions, allowing for a smooth driving experience.

Hyundai will offer a palette of six monotone shades and three dual-tone options for customers to choose from.

The anticipated starting ex-showroom price for the Exter is around Rs.6 lakh.

Toyota Coupe SUV: A Collaboration with Maruti Suzuki’s Frox SUV

Toyota Kirloskar is set to launch its own version of Maruti Suzuki’s popular Frox SUV during the festive season this year.

While some cosmetic changes may be introduced to its design, the new model is expected to incorporate certain design elements reminiscent of Toyota’s global model, the Yaris Cross.

Inside the cabin, the interior layout and features are likely to mirror those of the Frox SUV.

The micro SUV will be equipped with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, as well as a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, both integrated with Suzuki’s mild hybrid technology.
