The SUV segment continues to dominate the Indian automotive market, accounting for 47% of domestic sales in May.
Hyundai Motor India’s Creta emerged as the best-selling SUV for the month, supported by strong demand and an improvement in semiconductor supply.
Maruti Suzuki India also secured a strong presence in the top 10 list, with three models – Brezza, Fronx, and Grand Vitara.
Meanwhile, other major players such as Tata Motors, Mahindra, and Kia India showcased their popular SUV offerings.
Among the best-selling SUVs in May, Hyundai Creta took the lead with an impressive 14,449 units sold.
Tata Nexon closely followed in second place, recording sales of 14,423 units. Maruti Suzuki Brezza secured the third spot with 13,398 units sold.
Tata Punch made a remarkable comeback, surpassing Hyundai Venue, and claimed the fourth position with 11,124 units sold.
The recently launched Maruti Suzuki Fronx showcased promising performance, registering sales of 9,863 units and securing the sixth spot.
The reliable Mahindra Scorpio, including both the N and Classic variants, ranked seventh on the list, selling 9,318 units.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara performed well, claiming the eighth position with 8,877 units sold.
Kia Sonet stood at number nine, garnering sales of 8,251 units. Mahindra’s popular Bolero rounded off the top 10, with 8,170 units sold in May.
