Up to Rs 5 lakh Fine for Violating UAE Visa and Emirates ID Rules

Breaking the rules concerning visas and identification in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can lead to severe penalties.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has emphasized the consequences of violating regulations related to Emirates ID card services,

residency, and foreign affairs services. Those found in violation may face a daily fine of Dhs20 (equivalent to 451.14 INR).

The ministry has advised that individuals must promptly register or renew their ID cards within 30 days.

Penalties for non-compliance

Delays in ID card registration can lead to fines ranging from Dhs20 per day to a maximum of Dhs1,000.

However, there are provisions for exemption from fines in certain cases, provided that the necessary conditions are met. It is crucial to ensure timely permit renewal to avoid any penalties.
