The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strict regulations regarding visa and identification (ID) procedures,
and individuals found in violation of these rules may face substantial penalties.
Identity and Citizenship Violation
Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has emphasized that failing to comply with rules pertaining to Emirates ID card services, residency,
and foreign affairs services can result in a daily fine of Dhs20 (equivalent to 451.14 INR).
The ministry has issued a notice stating that individuals who delay or fail to renew their ID cards within 30 days of expiration will be subject to fines.
The maximum penalty that can be imposed for such negligence is Dhs20,000 (around ₹5,629,532.48).
Fines Await Offenders
Failure to promptly register ID cards can lead to daily fines ranging from Dhs20 to a maximum of Dhs1,000. Violations related to residency and overseas services can result in fines of up to Dhs500.
However, certain cases may be eligible for exemption from the fines, provided specific conditions are met.
It is crucial to renew permits in a timely manner to avoid penalties.
