The new rates will take effect from May 31 onwards. Experts believe that the increased fees imposed on sellers will inevitably lead to higher prices for products available on Amazon.
Sellers might pass on this additional burden to customers. It’s important to note that these increased charges will come into effect starting from May 31.
Which products are likely to become more expensive? Many items, including clothing, beauty products, groceries, and medicines, may experience price hikes.
Additionally, there could be an increase in platform fees related to product returns.
How significant are the price increases? It has been decided that the seller’s fee for over-the-counter medicines will rise from 5.5% to 12% for products priced at Rs 500 or less.
On the other hand, this fee has been reduced to 15% for products priced at Rs 500 or more.
Meanwhile, Amazon has lowered these rates for certain categories such as wall paint, tools, inverters, and batteries.
