New Delhi: With SBI’s online banking facility, you can easily change the branch of your savings account from the convenience of your home, eliminating the need to visit a branch to get it done.
This feature makes the process of changing your SBI bank account branch simpler and more convenient.
By accessing SBI’s internet banking service, you can easily transfer your account to another branch.
However, you’ll need the branch code of the desired bank branch to submit the request for the transfer of your SBI savings account through online banking.
It’s also important to register your mobile number with the bank and start using internet banking services to complete the process smoothly.
Step by step process to change Branch
1. First of all log on to SBI official website onlinesbi.com. Click on ‘Personal Banking’ option.
2. Click on User Name and Password. After this you will have tab of e-service in front, click it.
3. Click on Transfer Savings Account. Select your account to be transferred.
4. Write the IFSC code of the branch you want to transfer the account to.
5. Check everything once and press Confirm button. You will get an OTP on your registered mobile number. Fill it and then press Confirm.
6. After a few days, your account will be transferred to the branch you have requested for.
Apart from online banking, you can also change your SBI branch using the YONO app or YONO Lite.
However, to update the account without an OTP, you need to link your mobile number with your bank account.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SBI has made most of its services available online,
eliminating the need for customers to visit the branch to perform any banking transactions.
