A new food delivery platform, ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce), has gained popularity in recent times.
Launched by the government in September 2022, ONDC allows restaurants to deliver food directly to customers without any third-party intermediaries like Zomato and Swiggy.
The platform offers cheaper rates than its competitors, with media reports showing that some food items cost up to Rs 89 less than on Zomato and Swiggy.
Apart from food delivery, ONDC offers a wide range of products such as clothing, groceries, movie tickets, cab bookings, and electronics.
The platform has over 29,000 sellers offering more than 36 lakh products.
Accessing ONDC is easy, as it can be used through various UPI apps such as Paytm, PhonePe, and Meesho.
According to reports, around 10,000 orders are placed daily on this platform.
Overall, ONDC offers an alternative to traditional food delivery services and provides users with a cheaper option for ordering food and other products.
