Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has accused the central government and the BJP of hatching a conspiracy against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Singh claimed that the BJP’s alleged liquor scam, which the party had been touting for months, has turned out to be nothing but “Hawa Hawai”.

Singh stated that the ED and CBI initially claimed that the scam amounted to 100 crores, but in the charge sheet, the amount was reduced to 30 crores.
Furthermore, the charge sheet alleged that the money was spent on the Goa elections through Rajesh Joshi. However, it was later revealed that the AAP spent only Rs 19 lakh in cash in the Goa elections.
Singh accused the investigative agencies of taking statements forcefully and claimed that there was no proof of the alleged scam. He demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP apologize for their false allegations against Kejriwal and the AAP.
Singh went on to claim that the BJP had conspired against Kejriwal at the behest of PM Modi. He alleged that the BJP had deliberately tried to defame Kejriwal and the AAP by making baseless allegations of corruption.
The court recently granted bail to Gautam Malhotra and Rajesh Joshi, who were arrested in connection with the alleged liquor scam.
Singh’s comments come in the wake of this development and are likely to add fuel to the ongoing political tussle between the AAP and the BJP.
