Abu Dhabi: Wizz Air, known for its affordable airfare, is looking to expand its flight operations to India and Pakistan.
The airline is currently in the regulatory process to obtain the necessary approvals.
Johan Ehagen, Officer and Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, expressed the company’s excitement to enter the Indian subcontinent market due to high demand.
Once the regulatory process is complete, the airline will announce its routes.
Expansion Plans and Flight Schedule
In addition to India and Pakistan, Wizz Air plans to start flights to Kyrgyzstan this summer and resume services to Cyprus and Egypt.
The airline currently serves 11 destinations and operates eight aircraft, with plans to double the number by the end of this year.
Wizz Air carried 1.2 million passengers to their destinations last year and aims to increase the number to 2 million this year.
The airline intends to fly every day to meet the high demand for low-cost travel.
Discounted Ticket Rates
Wizz Air is famous for its discounted ticket rates, with some fares as low as AED 179 (Rs 3,980).
The airline will offer similar discounts for flights to India. Ehagen recommends joining the Vizz Discount Club for exclusive discounts, and tickets may be available for as low as AED 179.
